“色”这个字通常被用来指代物质世界的各种现象和存在，包括我们所能看到的、听到的、感觉到的所有物质形态和现象。简而言之，“色”指的是一切有形有相、有质碍的东西，包括我们的身体、感官所接触到的世界，以及我们的思维活动等等。
“色”被看作是构成世界的基本元素之一，但同时也是无常、虚幻的。这是因为所有的物质形态和现象都是由因缘聚合产生，并随因缘的消散而消失。因此，从某种意义上说，“色”是空无的，没有固定的实体和本质。
而“空即是色”这个表述，则进一步强调了“色”与“空”的不可分割性。它意味着，虽然“色”看似具有实体和存在，但实际上它是空无的，没有真正的本质和实体。同时，“空”也不是空无所有，而是包含了所有的“色”，是世界的真实本质。
The word“Color” is often used to refer to the various phenomena and existence of the material world, including all the physical forms and phenomena that we can see, hear and feel. At the same time, “Empty” is not empty nothing, but contains all the“Color”, is the real nature of the world.
